The knives were delivered on time, everything was there and undamaged. The box was a bit banged up, but not enough to lose points over.



The knives themselves are very nice, cut unbelievably well, pleasantly balanced and easy to grip. Calphalon products are always of wonderful quality and these are no exception.



My only regret is that I did not buy two sets, as this one was purchased as a gift and now I want one.

I purchased a single Calphalon knife (the 7" Santoku) from a local store to try this brand, as I had not used it before. I LOVED the Santoku knife, and even though it's recommended that you sharpen the knives before each use, I did not do it, just to see how long it would hold its edge. The one knife past the test w/flying colors, only having to sharpen once every 6 or 7 uses. So, I decided to purchase the complete set. I've had the set now for about a month, and I'm here to tell you that I've had to sharpen each and every knife EVERY TIME before I use them. The knives work wonderfully, when they are sharpened, but they DO NOT hold the edge for more than a single use. Needless to say, I am disappointed. The set is very attractive and it will look great on your counter, but be prepared to sharpen, sharpen, sharpen...

Spent lots of time handling, inspecting, etc. lots of cutlery from many different manufacturers. For the money these seemed to be a decent deal. Let's face it, $200 isn't a whole lot for quality "German Steel" cutlery. BUT WAIT! When you get home and open them up you realize they are NOT GERMAN STEEL!! but, are in fact Chinese made knives from "Asian steel". Even though the box, and their website, have "Made from German Steel" written all over it. I don't really care whether they are European or Asian made. Heck, the Japanese probably make the best knives available. But if these knives are really a good product, why try so hard to disquise their true identity. I'm sure the Chinese are capable of making quality products. It's time for them to stand on their own merit and quit trying to sucker people. That sort of thing makes me think of cheap Walmart junk.

The knives in this set are exceptional for the price that you pay. Calphalon has a solid reputation for making high quality products and this is no exception. The grips of the knives are very comfortable and the knives are weighted very well. It is also nice that all of the handles have the type of knife written on the butt. It eliminates having to pull out 2 or 3 different knives to find the one you want. They look very nice on the counter and the block is beautiful. This is definitely a great place to start a knife collection or a great way to expand an existing one.

Have not used all of the knives yet, but the paring knives and the chef are both great. They are sharp and have a good feel to the hand. The only drawback I see so far is that the chef's knife could have a little more weight to it for hand control/feel when chopping food such as carrots, radishes, etc.

My first Henkels' purchase was a "one-man" and it was cheap in price and quality. It was so heavy, my mom couldn't use it. I returned that one right away, and found the Twin Signature.



I loved it right away! The handle is the best part because it fits very well for a good grip and it doesn't feel heavy. The knives are sharp and I use the scissors all the time for everything! Everyone that comes by my house comments on how they like the knives after using them. For a little more money, buy the "two-man" Henkel--it's worth it.

I have to say, I was a little skeptical about buying expensive knives after always shopping at walmart for this type of thing. I actually bought them for my husband for Christmas because he loves to cook. My first cut Christmas day was a tomato and I am now a TRUE BELIEVER! These knives are perfect! I will be adding to the set! My favorite is the paring knive, at first the slightly curved blade threw me off, but with the balanced handle and the curved blade I have no slippage issues with the fruits or veggies as I cut! I never realized how much more effort I exerted using bad knives, now it takes very little effort to cut and peel items for dinner and snacks, I have especially noticed a difference with potatoes and apples. The handles are fantastic with the curved hand grip, it fits extremely small hands like mine but it fits my husbands large hands perfectly also. Amazing knives, I definitely would recomend them to anyone. I had just bought a set of santoku knives by a famous chef 2 weeks before Christmas and have not touched them since!

All in all, a great set of home-use knives. It's not pro-level quality, but you're not paying hundreds of dollars either. For the price and if you're just looking for a nice set of brand-name knives for daily use...I would highly recommend these. My visitors who know enough about knives to recognize the brand thinks they are 'really really' expensive knives...so a good way to show off with out paying a lot.

This is a fabulous value. I bought an 11 piece Chicago Cutlery set about 10 years ago for about the same price. I damaged the carving fork and phoned Chicago Cutlery to order a replacement. They said they don't manufacture it anymore. So I found this 25 piece set to replace my older set, for only $29. You can't get a better deal. The knives are sharp with an amazing selection for every use, the knife block keeps everything handy, and the additional utensils are worth another $10. Whatta deal!

I got this as a house warming gift a year ago, and love the humor of it.



I have the plastic chrome one that cost $20 more, huge waste of the extra money, the stand is super cheap, crappy and looks way better in the photo than in person. It is hard to keep clean, and is all ways dusty and spotty looking, I would advise to get the red or black one.



The knifes are good I use them daily. They will rust a little if you don't keep them clean and dry, not recomended for the dishwasher.

I had admired this for a long time prior to purchasing it. It may be because of all the build-up that the end result it such a let down.



To be fair, the knives are of good quality; not the best, but by no means are they a total waste of time.



The construction does leave much to be desired though. The base is rather cheap feeling, light-weight plastic, and the chrome paint/layer they put on should be a bit more durable considering this model costs $30 more than the others.



It IS nifty, and it IS attractive (for now.....) but I could not recommend this purchase to anyone else..... As a matter of fact, I'll probably give it to the first person who comes to visit and seems truely taken with it.

I got this for the wife and she just loves it! Not long after she started using it she taped a picture of my face on its head, giving us both a good laugh, what a wiseacre! She cooks a lot more now that I got it for her so it has benefits for me, as well. I often find her standing in the kitchen for hours just taking the knives out, honing or sharpening them, and putting them back in.



She's so happy I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with her standing over me sweating with a wide-eyed grin on her face. All-in-all a fantastic product!
