I purchased two Mondail wood drawer blocks, one small, one large, to fill a particular kitchen drawer. Combined, they fit the space perfectly. (Measure carefully!)



Nice to remove the knife block from the counter and have one less thing to dust or move around when cleaning the kitchen. Always ended up having to dust off the knives as well; the old block resided next to the refridgerator, which naturally spews dust onto anything in proximity.



Well worth the investment to have a bit more space and something less to dust!

This holds long shallow blades (like a serrated, bread knife) ok, but a standard 8 inch Western chef's knife, or a Japanese Santoku, flops over in the slot and falls out because the blade slots are too wide and too shallow. Obviously, knives falling out of the holder and banging around in the drawer is not the best solution.



It looks nice, and I expect that it would last a long time, but since this item fails at the one thing it's intended to do, I can't rate it higher than one star.

Had another knife holder that kept getting caught on the top side of the drawer when we pulled it out. We had to stick our fingers into the tiny opening and push the knife ends down to get the drawer open. Finally I got frustrated enough to look for a new one and found this. This is so much nicer! It fits in the drawer well, sits way down in it. The knives all fit in there even though none of ours are Henckels. I am very satisfied with this product. One less headache in my life!

We purchased two of these (yeah, between the husband and I, we've got a few knives) and couldn't be happier. This is a sturdy and well-made knife block, esthetically pleasing as well. Our knives seat well in the slots without a lot of wiggle room but they're also easy to remove. Dear Husband has a touch of arthritis, but even on a bad day has no trouble getting fingers around the handles of paring knives in the top level - plenty of room there. A neat feature - the slot for the steel is open-ended to accomodate one that's longer than the block (as most steels would be). I like this block every bit as much as any of the more expensive models I've seen and would recommend it highly as a fabulous vaule!

I ordered and received this knife tray promptly. It fits in the drawer perfectly and holds the knives well. I ordered it for some Cutco knives I bought from a neighbor girl. The Cutco was ordered before this knife tray. I have the knife tray now but still no knives so hats off for fast shipping on the knife tray. The knife tray is much better than having a jumble of knives in a tray in the drawer. Agree with the other reviewer about the knives sitting on rubber coated metal bars. Not great, but I still love the knife tray and if my knives go through the rubber, I'll just get a new knife tray. For $29.95, I'm ok with replacing it every few years.

Although it states it is an 11 slot knife tray, in reality it holds 14 knifes plus a sharpening steel.



My first impression from the picture was positive. A closer look when I received the item showed that on the bigger knife section, the edge of the knife is sitting on metal rods that are covered in rubber. In the one that I received the rubber did not completely covered some of the metal rods which left the blades of some of the bigger knifes exposed to the metal rods. I will still be concerned if the metal rods were completely covered with the rubber since with some use the rubber will wear out and the edge of the knife will be in contact with the metal rods which will deteriorate the edge of the knife.



I will have to look for another tray to store my knifes.
