I made the mistake of believing that the Ginsu 2000 knife set my roommate had in college would be comparable to this set simply because it was also from Ginsu. These knives are dull and flimsy. I never ran them through the dishwasher so despite owning them for 2 years now they have no rust spots. The reason they are rust-free is also because I avoided using them. The only time they came in handy was when I was unpacking boxes that had been taped after moving. Save your money and put it toward purchasing a J.A. Henckels or OxO set. I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this absolute joke of a set.

I bought this set over a more expensive product because I wanted something dishwasher safe. Now here I am just a couple months later with rusting knives and a pair of broken scissors that just fell apart in my hands before I even started to cut. If you dont mind dots of rust on your knives than you cant beat the price. Just make sure you have a quality pair of scissors handy as a backup.

Was on super sale at a local retailer. Couldn't resist the fame of the name for the price. Avoid the dishwasher, clean and dry, treat kindly, and they will perform fine and you won't complain like some of the others. What do you expect for the price, a high end item? The hardwood handles look more classy than plastic. Not a 5 star product, but a 5 star value for the budget minded.

I bought these at a local retailer thinking that Chicago Cutlery was a respectable brand, but when I opened them up, I found that the blades were rather weak and easily bendable, the handles were not well attached, and they weren't very sharp. They had a good variety of knives, but the craftsmanship was terrible. Do not buy these!

This is a fabulous value. I bought an 11 piece Chicago Cutlery set about 10 years ago for about the same price. I damaged the carving fork and phoned Chicago Cutlery to order a replacement. They said they don't manufacture it anymore. So I found this 25 piece set to replace my older set, for only $29. You can't get a better deal. The knives are sharp with an amazing selection for every use, the knife block keeps everything handy, and the additional utensils are worth another $10. Whatta deal!
