All knives feature high carbon, stainless steel blades, hand finished at Victorinox in Switzerland by skilled craftsmen. A special tempering process is used to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again, so the knife can keep its original sharpness throughout the entire life of the blade. I was very pleased with the quality of both the knives and the knife block. Looks very nice on the kitchen counter, yet does not have so high a profile that it cannot be placed on it's side in a locked cupboard if you have small children.
For the price of the entire collection, the quality is unsurpassed.

These knives are balanced, comfortable and very sharp. I am extremely impressed with the quality. Cutting is effortless. They feel very solid and sturdy. They are dishwasher safe, although I hand wash mine. There are extra spaces in the block to put some other knives or expand your Victorinox collection. Great knife set!

These are the BEST knives and quite possibly the ONLY knives I'll ever use again!
Sharp, they hold a great edge, sharpen easily and will cut paper thin slices from the softest of tomatoes. The bread knives work great on any bread... I can't say enough about these knives other than if you don't have a set yet, get on it!

You will love these knives. I purchased them on a review from Cooks Illustrated, and I have to admit they are a five star knife all the way around. They feel very comfortable in your hand and unlike some handles, don't get slippery when your hand gets wet. The whole set looks very professional, with a large knife holder and if you didn't notice, the Swiss Army logo is on the front. If you are hesitant, just buy the chef's knife to see what you think. I guarantee you will buy more of the set. I am not a professional chef or anything, but I love to cook and have gone through several chef knives with many complaints. Not one complaint to date with this set.
