This is the best knife set on the market. I've have used other knife set similar price range and this is by far the best.

I purchased these Shun Elite knives as a housewarming present for a friend. Once I got them home I started to have second thoughts about giving them away.
The edges are seriously scary-sharp, and the G2 steel seems to be very close in edge holding to the new supersteel ZDP-189, also a powder steel.
The handles are substantial, perfectly shaped, and provide a nice grip even when coated with slippery liquids.
Inlaid into the handles is a small circular Shun chop which adds a very nice low-key touch to these elegant knives.
Really, if I didn't already own a set of William Henry kitchen knives which cost about twice as much, I would have immediately ordered another set for myself. They are superb knives for the price.
Properly cared for, these should last you a lifetime and give years of service.
The Shun Elite knives cut through things so easily it will make you gasp until you get used to it.
